The Victorian Schools Rugby Union held its first trials on Sunday, 24 March, starting the process of selecting teams to compete at the 50th Australian Schools Championships to be held on the Sunshine Coast in 1-5 July. The boys have competed in every Australian Championship since 1975 and attended the trials in great numbers. Manager Tony Hollamby is very optimistic, saying registrations for the Vic Schoolboys were at an all-time high this year. “The players come from far and wide in the private school and state school systems, We all look forward to travelling to the Sunshine Coast in July” he said. The squad will have a comprehensive three month training program.
