SANIX 2020–APPLICATIONS CALLED

APPLICATIONS ARE CALLED FROM SCHOOLS TO ATTEND THE  2020 SANIX TOURNAMENT IN JAPAN IN LATE APRIL

These should be lodged on the form as below by not later than 16th March 2019

Even though the school planned to attend will be decided soon after that, finalisation of attendance will depend upon the formal invitation being received from Japan.

Australian has been invited for every year that Sanix has occurred.

SANIX WORLD YOUTH RUGBY TOURNAMENT

The following is a summary only for schools making application to the Australian Schools Rugby Union to be Australia’s entrant in the prestigious Sanix World Youth Rugby Tournament which is held in Japan. More information can be obtained by contacting the under-signed 

  1. The tournament is played on the island of Kyushu in Japan near Fukuoka under the auspices of the Japan Rugby Union but administered and funded by the Sanix company.
  2. It has been running annually since 2000.
  3. 8 countries each year are invited each year to send a top schools team
  4. Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England and four others are generally invited.
  5. The 8 top Japanese High Schools are selected from their own National Championships.
  6. Teams are in pools of 4 which all include 2 overseas teams and 2 Japanese teams.
  7. It is always played in Japan’s ‘Golden Week’ with playing days 28 April – 5 May. There are 6 days of playing with two rest days
  8. The format is 3 days of pool matches and the final three days are all decider matches.
  9. Expectation is that each school will be a ‘top’ high school team from each nation.
  10. The cost to each team is the travel to the tournament with Gulliver’s Sports Travel as Australian Schools Rugby official Travel Agent available to make all arrangements.
  11. All other costs, including accommodation, food, transfers, players injury insurance and official excursions in Japan  being paid for by Sanix Company.

N.B.—Sanix—specify the squad to have 30 players and 4 staff

                      –require players to be Under 18 on January 1st in the year of the Tournament
